Extensive idling, or long periods of stop-and-go driving, such as a taxi or a commercial delivery vehicle. Driving on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads. Trailer towing, driving with a roof rack, or driving in mountainous conditions. Engine oil capacity-D17A1 engine without oil filter: 3.0 L (3.2 US qt), D17A2 and D17A6 engines without oil filter: 3.3 L (3.5 US qt). Replace engine oil filter, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year. Engine oil capacity-D17A1 engine with oil filter: 3.2 L (3.4 US qt), D17A2 and D17A6 engines with oil filter: 3.5 L (3.7 US qt). Check front and rear brakes, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year. Check pads and discs for wear (thickness), damage, and cracks. Check calipers for damage, leaks, and tightness of mount bolts. Check wheel cylinders for leaks. Check brake linings for cracking, glazing, wear, or contamination. Lubricate all hinges, locks, and latches, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year. Rotate tires, and check tire inflation and condition, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km). Follow the pattern shown in the Owner’s Manual. Inspect tie rod ends, steering gearbox, and gearbox boots, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

1. Remove Roof Rack Leg Covers (a) Remove the rear right roof rack leg cover. (Fig 1-1) (b) Repeat the removal for the rear left side. NOTE: The roof rack leg cover clips are easily damaged when removed and will require replacement when damaged. Part number can be found on page 1 “Vehicle Service Parts”. 2. Crossbar Installation (a) Loosen the knobs on each crossbar joint. (Fig. 2-1) (b) Ensuring that the arrow on the crossbar joint is facing toward the front of the vehicle, slide crossbar joints into left and right roof channels. (Fig. 2-2) Note: Wind noise may be generated if the crossbars are installed with the arrow pointing rearward. 3. Crossbar Alignment (a) Position front and rear crossbars so that they are parallel (A=A’, B=B’). (Fig. 3-1) (b) Securely tighten the knobs. 4. Roof Rack Leg Cover Installation (a) Position the tab at the front of the right rear cover into the guide on the leg. Then align rear clip. (Fig. 4-1) (b) Press outer clip to engage to leg. (c) Press inner clip to engage to leg. (d) Repeat for the left rear cover. (e) Confirm that the cover is installed securely. 5. Stopper Installation (a) Install the stopper with the angled portion against the leg cover by pressing the stopper into the groove for the LH side. (Fig. 5-1) (b) Repeat for the RH stopper.
